# Shift-Based Schedules: Generally Available starting on May 18

Our new scheduling system is built on iCal standards (the same foundation as Google and Outlook calendars) to give teams a modern, flexible, and easier to manage experience:

* **Quick start templates**: Common schedule rotation patterns up and running in minutes
* **Multi-responder shifts**: Stack coverage when you need it or even add shadow rotations that enable team members to observe shifts without getting paged
* **Custom shifts**: Build any rotation to fit how your team actually works

Shift-Based Schedules are now rolling out to all customers in Web UI, API\*, Mobile App (view + limited overrides), and Terraform. Your existing schedules will continue working and stay fully editable.
