Extensions
Extend PagerDuty's capabilities with third-party tools
Service extensions allow you to connect PagerDuty to third-party tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Jira Cloud, etc. These tools can extend PagerDuty's capabilities and help streamline your incident response and communication.
Based on your user permissions, there are two places to manage service extensions:
Extensions with Dedicated Pages
Some extensions have dedicated pages and the information below will not apply, for example Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Jira Cloud. Please refer to a product’s integration guide if you find the information in this guide is not applicable.
Manage Extensions on the Service Details Page
Required User Permissions
Users with the following roles can manage extensions on both the Extensions and the Service details page:
- Manager Team role
- Note: Users with a Manager Team role and lower-level base role (e.g., Responder, Observer, or Restricted Access) can only manage extensions from the service details page.
- Admin/Global Admin
- Account Owner
If you're not sure what role you have, or if you need your permissions adjusted, visit our sections on Check Your User Role or Edit User Roles.
View Extensions
- Navigate to Services Service Directory and select your desired service.
- Select the tab Integrations and scroll to the section Extensions and Add-Ons.
Create Extensions
- Navigate to Services Service Directory and select your desired.
- Select the tab Integrations, scroll to the section No extensions or add-ons found on this service, and click Add an Extensions.
- Note: If an extension already exists on the service, please click Add or manage extensions.
- Click New Extension and enter the requested information, for example:
- Extension Type
- Name
- Details

Enter extension details
- Click Save.
Edit Extensions
- Navigate to Services Service Directory and select your desired service.
- Select the tab Integrations, scroll to the section Extensions and Add-Ons, and click Add or manage extensions.
- To the right of your desired extension, select Edit.
- Make the required changes and click Save.
Delete Extensions
- Navigate to Services Service Directory and select your desired service.
- Select the tab Integrations, scroll to the section Extensions and Add-Ons, and click Add or manage extensions.
- To the right of your desired extension, select Remove.
- In the confirmation dialog, click Delete.
- Note: This is a permanent action and cannot be undone.
Manage Extensions on the Extensions Page
The Extensions page allows you to view and manage all of your service extensions, persistent conference bridges and add-ons.
Required User Permissions
Account Owner, Admin, Global Admin, or Manager roles can manage extensions on the Extensions page.
If you're not sure what role you have, or if you need your permissions adjusted, visit our sections on Check Your User Role or Edit User Roles.
View Extensions
To view Extensions in the web app:
- Navigate to Integrations Extensions.
- Select the Service Extensions tab to view extensions across your account.
- Use the following tabs to filter extensions:
- Account Level – displays extensions available at the account level.
- Service Level – displays extensions specific to individual services.
If you do not see as many extensions as you expect, you may need to adjust the Per Page dropdown or page forward to view more results.

View more extensions
Add Extensions
- Go to Integrations Extensions.
- With the Service Extensions tab selected, click New Extension.
- Select an extension from the list. They are categorized by Account Level extensions and Service Level extensions.
- For Account Level extensions, click Continue to Configuration to set up your extension directly in the extension page.
- For Service Level extensions, include the following:
- Name
- Services
- URL
- Click Add

Add service level extension
Update Extensions
- Go to Integrations Extensions.
- For Service Level extensions:
- Click Edit.
- Make the required changes and click Save.
- For Account Level extensions:
- Click the link under Details to redirect you to the extension page.
Delete Extensions
- Go to Integrations Extensions.
- For Service Level extensions:
- Click Remove.
- Click Delete to confirm. Note: This is a permanent action and cannot be undone.

Delete extension
- For Account Level extensions:
- Click the link under Details to redirect you to the extension page for more information on how to delete the extension.
Deleting Account Level Extensions
Some Account Level extensions, such as Slack or Microsoft Teams, cannot be deleted.
When you navigate to these extension pages, the delete option will not be available.
